Wood Bank

The Wood Bank is available to provide supplemental and emergency wood to those with heating needs in our communities. Local volunteers chop, stack, and deliver the wood which is donated by residents within the communities we serve.

Wood Bank FAQ

How can I get wood from the Wood Bank?

Apply to your regional Fuel Assistance program:

    • SCS and SNHS will refer you to The River Center if:
      • You qualify for fuel assistance, but legitimately need more assistance
      • You do not qualify for fuel assistance, but you have a legitimate need
    • If you have access to another wood bank from your town or area, you will be referred to that wood ban. The towns of Antrim, Hancock, Francestown, and Bennington have access to The Grapevine’s wood bank
    • Wood may be provided without referral from the Fuel Assistance programs when appropriate
How is the wood given out?
  • Arrangements are made for the pick-up or delivery of wood as needed
  • If you receive wood from us, you may be asked to volunteer at the Wood Bank when appropriate
Can I volunteer at the Wood Bank?

Yes! We would love to have you and your group – large or small – help split, stack and deliver wood.  See our Volunteer page for more information.
