It takes a village to raise a child. Especially if your child has different needs than others. See the ABLE not the LABEL seeks to help parents in the Monadnock region create a village around these awesome kiddos. Together, we will form a peer connection and social support network of individuals working through similar challenges to help each other find and access community supports, advice, advocacy and maybe even a little levity.

Build your parent tribe! Build your parenting community!
Share the joys and challenges of pregnancy into parenthood with other new parents and their babies…or bellies! This group is designed for parents-to-be in their 3rd trimester to parents and caregivers with children up to 24 months of age in the Monadnock area of New Hampshire.
Facilitated by Mackenzie Nichols, our group discussions will help answer questions you may have on the challenges of the third trimester, fears of what’s to come, feeding, crying, sleeping, play, developmental milestones, and parenting concerns. There will also be monthly guest speakers on topics such as nutrition, lactation, and infant massage.
Peer counseling, support, and friendship will be fostered and encouraged!
The group meets in-person (with social distancing!) and varies from week to week. Meeting details will be sent to you by the group facilitator, Mackenzie Nichols, after registering.
Fostering confidence & competence
“My child, who is autistic, and I were often made to feel uncomfortable in public places. He sometimes has behavioral issues that make it hard for him to be accepted in play groups. I was feeling isolated and discouraged. The River Center’s Children’s Enrichment program changed all that. They welcomed my son with open arms! For the first time, I felt hope – as a parent and for my child.”
