Children and Youth Programs
Programs for Children
We offer a children’s enrichment program in conjunction with many of our parent programs as well as playgroups. Children participate in age-appropriate activities and play. We also have an outdoor playspace for playtime, weather-permitting.
In the past, we have held child-specific programs such as Tinker Tots which had a STEAM-focus through fun activities and play; and Tunes for Tots, full of music, movement and fun!
Programs for Youth
For older children, we offer the nationally-certified 1-day Safe Sitter program for 11 to 14 year old students who want to learn the skills necessary to stay home alone or to care for younger children. Contact us to learn more!
Students will learn through instruction, games and videos the skills they need to stay home alone, basic child care and safety skill, and how to run their own baby sitting business.
Skills learned will include safety, childcare, First-Aid, rescue, life and business. The first steps of CPR and choking will also be instructed and practiced during this course. All courses are taught through Zoom.
Once you register for this course you will receive a welcome email with details about the day of the event, course Zoom access, and a course handbook (available for pickup at the River Center on a specified date).
This program is offered for free, but there is a $15 fee for the required workbook.
Class is broken down into three 1.5 hour lessons from Monday to Wednesday consecutively. Choose your preferred start date as follows:
See Eventbrite listing for dates.
Students must attend all 3 classes in order to complete the program.
There are required registration student contract forms that are linked to in your confirmation email. Please complete all forms and send them in 24 hours no later than before the start of the class.
