Interested in a program? The programs listed below have open registration. 

During this COVID-19 outbreak and resulting stay-at-home orders, we have moved many of our programs online and have made all of them free to continue to offer much-needed parenting and family support.

We are all navigating these crazy waters together, so let’s continue to connect and support each other!

Build your parent tribe! Build your parenting community!

Share the joys and challenges of pregnancy into parenthood with other new parents and their babies…or bellies! This group is designed for parents-to-be in their 3rd trimester to parents and caregivers with children up to 24 months of age in the Monadnock area of New Hampshire.

Facilitated by Mackenzie Nichols, our group discussions will help answer questions you may have on the challenges of the third trimester, fears of what’s to come, feeding, crying, sleeping, play, developmental milestones, and parenting concerns. There will also be monthly guest speakers on topics such as nutrition, lactation, and infant massage.

Peer counseling, support, and friendship will be fostered and encouraged!

The group meets in-person (with social distancing!) and location varies from week to week. Meeting details will be sent to you by the group facilitator, Mackenzie Nichols, after registering.

Families, Forests, and Farms
Jul 27 all-day
This is a weekly outing/field trip-based program for the whole family. It provides parents and their children with fun and enriching experiences visiting our local resources. Past adventures have included berry-picking, dairy farms, mini hikes, and more. Masks required. Wednesday program participants will bring a picnic lunch and Tuesday group will bring snacks for themselves. 
 
Offered on 2 different days and times:
 
  • Tuesdays:  9:30-11:30
  • Wednesdays 12:30-2:30
     
 
JUNE SCHEDULE
 
•Week of June 1st and 2nd: River Center Paint, Play, crafts and bubbles
•Week of June 8th and 9th : Biking/Walking on the Bike Trail! Meet at the roundabout road on Prescott Hill Road in Peterborough.
•Week of June 15th and 16th : Strawberry picking at Barrett Hill Farm (reschedule date of June 15th and 16th if berries are not ripe) EBT accepted for pick your own at Barrett Hill.
•Week of June 22nd and 23rd : MacDowell Dam Hike and Play
•Week of June 29th and 30th: Family Hike on Hiroshi Trail with Susie Spikol

  • July 6 & 7 Ice cream and visit to Dairy cows. Meeting at Connolly Brothers 140 Webster Hwy Greenfield
  • July 13 &14 Raspberries picking at Mayfair Farm. Meeting at Mayfair Farm 31 Clymers DR. Harrisville
  • July 20 & 21 Hike at Rhododendron State Park. Meeting at 424 Rockwood Pond Road Fitzwilliam
  • July 27 & 28 Both groups will meet one day this week
  • JULY 27 AT 10:00 Trip to Friendly Farm. Meeting at Friendly Farm at RT 101, Dublin.
Choose either Tuesday (9:30am-11:30am) or Wednesday (12:30pm-2:30pm) outings. This program is offered at no-cost except for the PYO outings in which case you will pay for what you pick.

See the ABLE not the LABEL
Jul 29 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

**Meets every other Thursday**

It takes a village to raise a child. Especially if your child has different needs than others. See the ABLE not the LABEL seeks to help parents in the Monadnock region create a village around these awesome kiddos. Together, we will form a peer connection and social support network of individuals working through similar challenges to help each other find and access community supports, advice, advocacy and maybe even a little levity.

Facilitated by Mandy Carter, mother of 2 children with special needs, and Jillian Mercier, mother of 5 children with special needs. This group meet once monthly for 90 minutes via Zoom on the 4th Thursday of each month.

Safe@Home

Safe@Home @ The River Center

Is your tween ready to stay home alone? Sign them up for this 90-minute program to learn how to be safe!

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. This 90-minute program teaches students how to practice safe habits, prevent unsafe situations, basic first aid, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.

This is no charge for the class for community families, but there is a $15 fee for the Safe@Home student booklet required for each participant. Book scholarships available.

Choose a date that works for you:

June 21 (10am), July 9 (3pm), July 24 (10am) or August 7 (10am)

Kinship Coffee

**Meets the 2nd Saturday of the month**

The Kinship Coffee is a monthly support group for relative caregivers raising non-biological children. This space aims to give grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other caregivers a place to share support, achievements, and general help and information. Parenting a second time around can be hard. No one needs to do it alone.
